Human quirks briefly presented and explained
February 07, 2012
“100 Things Every Designer Needs to Know About People” is a collection of rather useful information about people.
The author has compiled a worth-reading collection of 100 “things” about how humans function. Even a non-designer can learn many interesting facts from psychology and biology here.
I say “things” and not “facts” here because much of the research has not yet been 100% proven or is partly speculative or subjective.
Each “thing” is briefly explained in its own section, followed by references to further literature or links. I found it annoying when the author referred to her own book “Neuro Web Design” in 8 of the 100 points (30, 40, 47, 74, 76, 84, 90, 98).
The “things” are grouped by topic, such as “How people see”, “How they read”, “How they think”, etc.
Overall, a nice and interesting book.
