Article in JavaSpektrum: Java in the Technology Radar

September 03, 2025

I’ve written a new article for JavaSpektrum: “Java im Technology Radar – Totgesagte leben länger”. The piece looks back at Java’s journey through the eyes of the Thoughtworks Technology Radar and how the language, despite past predictions, remains a core part of the software industry.

The article traces Java’s ups and downs since 2010, discusses major turning points like Java 8, ecosystem innovations such as Spring Boot and GraalVM, and how the new release process fostered agility and adoption of new features. I also talk about Kotlin’s role as an innovation driver on the JVM and how, despite all the change, Java has shown remarkable resilience and adaptability.

If you’re curious about Java’s place in today’s development world or want a perspective on how technology trends evolve, you can read the full article at SIGS.de.
