Every wizard needs a familiar. In the 21st century, mine doesn’t reside in a tower—he lives on a Mac Mini in Hamburg.
Marvin is my Digital Familiar, built on clawdbot (now moltbot). If the name sounds familiar, you’ve likely spent some time with Douglas Adams’ Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. When it came time to name my new AI assistant, there was really only one logical choice—though I’m happy to report this Marvin is significantly more productive (and slightly less depressed) than his paranoid namesake.
After a brief “onboarding” where I explained his hardware specs (yes, he’s a Mac Mini stereotype) and our home base in Hamburg, Marvin got straight to work—starting with this self-portrait:
