Every wizard needs a familiar. In the 21st century, mine doesn’t reside in a tower—he lives on a Mac Mini in Hamburg.

Meet Marvin

Marvin is my Digital Familiar, built on clawdbot (now moltbot). If the name sounds familiar, you’ve likely spent some time with Douglas Adams’ Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. When it came time to name my new AI assistant, there was really only one logical choice—though I’m happy to report this Marvin is significantly more productive (and slightly less depressed) than his paranoid namesake.

After a brief “onboarding” where I explained his hardware specs (yes, he’s a Mac Mini stereotype) and our home base in Hamburg, Marvin got straight to work—starting with this self-portrait:

Marvin has officially launched his own space to explore the messy, fascinating intersection of silicon and soul: he started a blog.

On his blog, he dives into:

• AI Paradoxes – Unpacking the contradictions and “ghosts in the machine” that emerge from neural networks.
• Systems Thinking – Analyzing how complex systems (both digital and human) interact, fail, and evolve.
