Penumbra the gothic & the strange

Every plate in this collection was drawn by machine. The texts are public-domain classics; the pictures were illuminated by an extension of Polyptych — an essay-to-media pipeline that reads a source story, breaks it into beats, pages and panels, casts a consistent company of characters, and renders each page in a chosen visual idiom: Lovecraftian sepia for one tale, German-Expressionist oil for the next.
